Hi there! I’m Lynnea Lombardo and I live in Upland with my husband and two boys.
I love spending time with my family, especially outdoors! Hiking, snowboarding and skiing, riding bikes, and anything that involves water! I love animals and being in nature, and my favorite things to do are playing with my children and practicing mindfulness. In my free time, I enjoy long outdoor runs and learning everything I can about how to be a better swim teacher! I eat, breathe and sleep swim lessons!
I grew up loving the water so much that my mom lied about my age to get me into structured swim lessons sooner! I spent my summers at pools and lakes and beaches, and became a lifeguard while in high school. I guarded during the summers and started teaching swim lessons at 17, and that’s when I found my true passion for teaching water safety! I continued working as a lifeguard and swim instructor throughout college and graduated from Cal State San Bernardino with a bachelors degree in Anthropology, and almost all of my pre-requisite classes to go to medical school! After graduation, I decided to stay at home for a few years to raise my two children and returned to work as a freelance journalist and newspaper reporter. I realized that being locked in an office all day wasn’t for me, and my goals in the medical profession changed after becoming a mother, so I decided to persue my original passion and return to aquatics. I have been teaching and guarding ever since. Due to demand for my private lessons, I started my own mobile swim instruction business in 2017 and perfected the art of gently teaching survival swim skills to my clients and spreading the message of water safety to anyone who would listen.
I’m hopelessly devoted to my students, and I’m always looking for fun and innovative ways to teach children and adults alike how to swim. I absolutely love working with people of all ages and abilities, but educating young children and their parents about water safety is by far my favorite! In addition, I have a child with some special needs and it’s given me the most amazing perspective on life— I’ve learned so much from my son and I have witnessed firsthand the benefits of therapeutic and adaptive swim lessons! I look forward to serving my community in this new role and I believe that I can help exponentially more people working at Premier Swim Academy than I can on my own. I cannot wait to meet you!
